Created as part of “The Lillene Collection,” this print is inspired by my grandmother’s ginger jar collection and my time spent with her growing up.

As young girls, my twin sister and I spent hours upon hours of our visits to our grandparents’ house playing with our mom’s Barbies from the 50s and 60s. The remnants of her childhood imagination lingered in the boxes of Barbies stored in her old bedroom closet; tiny handmade aluminum foil glasses and plates were carefully kept over the decades, providing endless numbers of dining experiences for her little dolls. Our grandmother had saved all the best toys in our mom’s old bedroom closet, from fuzzy haired trolls to horses we would create a myriad of backstories for. Sitting on the floor of the den playing as Grandmother sat in her maroon recliner worked on whatever happened to be in her hands at the moment is an image that is eternally fixed in my mind.

Details: Each print is an archival giclée reproduction printed on high quality, beautifully textured paper here in my studio on a professional fine art printer. Each print is cut by hand and packaged individually in a clear sleeve with backing board to be shipped in a rigid flat mailer (small print) or rolled up in protective tissue paper and shipped in a sturdy tube (large print). Colors are matched as closely as possible to the original, though colors may look different depending on the device you are using to view the images. Each print is an easily framed size, so displaying it is easy!
